Abstract  Based on the proactive motivation model, this paper constructs a moderated mediating model to explore the cross-level effect of inclusive leadership on employee improvisation. According to statistical analysis of 100 sets of leader and employee pairing data collected at two time points, this paper finds that inclusive leadership has a positive effect on employee improvisation, and this relationship is partially mediated by organization-based self-esteem and team positive emotional climate; team positive emotional climate has a positive moderating effect on the relationship between organization-based self-esteem and employee improvisation, and it positively moderates the mediating effect of organization-based self-esteem.
