Abstract  This study explores the process and mechanism of sustainable social enterprise business model, based on a multi-case study of three microfinance organizations in China. The research finds the emerged sustainable social enterprise business model has interactive social and economic value process, which is synchronization of social value creation, economic value capture process, integration of economic value creation and social value capture process. The mechanism of sustainable social enterprise business model is the emotional exchange between social enterprise and key stakeholders, that is, through the familial emotional interactions with mission targets, the moral emotional interactions with government agencies, and the achieving emotional interactions with resource providers, social enterprise links the social and economic value process and achieves the mutual transformation between the dual value.
