Abstract  ECO system is a supplier evaluation system utilized by the German chemical industry to assess suppliers’corporate social responsibility. In order to overcome the defects in data collecting and processing, an extended model was developed by integrating interval 2-tuple linguistic variables, analytic hierarchy process, and VIKOR method. The model can optimize the expert evaluation, weight formulation and calculation process. Results show that: (1) multi-criteria decision-making models that are widely used to solve supplier selection problems can be applied for comparison on corporate social responsibility performance as well; (2) the proposed extended model provides precise evaluation results and rankings with accurate and complete information; (3) the evaluation results of corporate social responsibility supports companies in managing and selecting sustainable suppliers.
