Abstract  In order to clarify the present situation and future development direction of “paradoxical perspective” in the field of management, this study systematically summarizes the related research in this field by combining Chinese traditional culture with contradictory dialectical concepts of contemporary consciousness as well as the mainstream literature on paradoxical perspectives in Western management. The results show that the connotation of the paradox-related concepts(i.e.,duality,hybrid,dialectics,dilemma and paradox)not only have their uniqueness, but relate to each other. he main paradigm of paradox management can be divided into three types, namely, defensive, integration and transformation, and each paradigm has several corresponding empirical operation methods. s a kind of “meta-paradigm” ,paradoxical perspective is suitable for the research of China’s transitional economy, organizational management, organizational behavior and leadership, organizational innovation and change.
