Abstract

Aimed to reduce the shortcoming, this study introduces the theory of Affective Commitment to rebuild the framework of crisis management-the model of PDALA, and conduct comparative analysis of two action logics (transactional crisis action logic and relational crisis action logic) of four high technology companies which are in different life stage and face the similar products crisis. Ultimately, the study discovers the reverse elimination effect of crisis. To explain the effect, the study introduces the theory of Organizational legitimacy, and discovers the actual reason for effect is that mature enterprise has the passivating perception of legitimacy gap and start-up/growth enterprise has the sharpening perception of legitimacy gap. To sum up, two kinds of perception of legitimacy gap make a difference in action logic of crisis response of the enterprises which are in different development stage. And, the difference causes further different the crisis management results. Finally, this study establishes the formation mechanism model about reverse elimination effect of crisis. It enriches the crisis management research and provides guidance for the enterprise practice.
