Abstract  Based on the upper echelons theory, we discussed the relationship among transformational leadership, business model innovation and enterprise performance, and analyzed the moderating effect of environmental dynamism upon this process. Using data from 194 enterprises in Yangtze River Delta region in China, it was found there is a positive relationship between transformational leadership, environmental dynamism and business model innovation. Our results also verified that the relationship between transformational leadership and enterprise performance is partially mediated by business model innovation. Finally, environmental dynamism doesn’t moderate the relationship between transformational leadership and business model innovation, but positively moderates the relationship between business model innovation and enterprise performance.
Key wordsbusiness model innovation      transformational leadership      enterprise performance      environmental dynamism
