Abstract Considering the uncertainty existing in procurement management, the inventory holding cost and variable ordering cost are treated as fuzzy variables. A fuzzy joint replenishment
problem (FJRP) model with transportation capacity constraint and quantity discount is firstly proposed. There is no stable and effective global optimization algorithm to solve this model
which is a typical NPhard problem. Then, the fuzzy total cost is defuzzified by the graded mean integration representation and an adaptive hybrid differential evolution algorithm (AHDE)
is designed. Further, numerical studies show the effectiveness of the proposed FJRP and the global optimality capability of the proposed AHDE.
