Abstract Using a sample of 220 dyads of manufactures and distributors, this study empirically discusses knowledge transfer and its antecedents among supply chain corporations. The results show: the positive effect of contracts and relational norms will gradually increase and decrease separately, accompanied with the increasing total dependence; manufacturer’s interdependence advantage and disadvantage will enhance or hinder market knowledge transfer, but the effects of enhancing and hindering will increase and decrease respectively, with the total interdependence increasing. The results also confirm that the manufacturedistributor interdependence can also effect the manufacture’s using of control mechanism. Finally, this study explains previous incompatible arguments to some extent and puts forward new theoretical viewpoints along with feasible guidelines for managerial practice.
