Abstract Board strategic involvement can be seen as a continuum from negative to positive attitudes. This study reviews theoretical perspectives of boards’ strategic involvement, the relationship between board’s strategic involvement and the roles of board, and determinants and consequences of board’s strategic involvement. Lastly, we provide a framework on board’s strategic involvement, and then propose future perspective about related researches.
