Literature Review of Sensemaking on Different Organizational Context

Abstract  According to relevant literatures, researches on sensemaking refer to three kinds of organizational context: crisis context, change context and general context. Among them, research on crisis context focuses on the sensemaking social process of core managers and employee groups respectively; change literatures stress the different role and pattern of top and middle managers in sensemaking process; research on general organizational context focuses on sensemaiking process and outcome for different organizational problems. Finally, this paper systematically compares the three research streams, identifies common themes, and proposes possible directions for future research.
