The study is an empirical research based on the analysis of the information system (IS) research projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC). A total of 408 research projects from the year 2000 to 2009 are categorized and analyzed from perspectives of research topics and research levels. The study aims at finding out the status quo of IS research in China through comparing it with international research results in this area.
