Abstract  This study examines the possibility of a curvilinear relation between job insecurity and voice behavior and whether this curvilinear relation is moderated by employees’ selfefficacy. Data were obtained from 286 employees and their immediate supervisors from twelve enterprises. Results show that an inverted Ushaped relation between job insecurity and voice behavior is found, and the relation is moderated by selfefficacy. For employees who scored high on selfefficacy, the curvilinear relation is weaker and the turning point appeared on the condition of higher job insecurity. The theoretical contributions and empirical implications of this study are discussed finally.
