Abstract This paper discusses the concept of regional innovation network, and reviews the existing literature on regional innovation network from three aspects: the structure analysis and performance measurement of regional innovation network, the relationship between network structure and performance, the evolution mechanism of regional innovation network. Finally, we discuss the shortages of present literature and what future research directions.
