Abstract Indigenous researches benefit both local knowledge innovation and global knowledge accumulation. This paper clarifies the difficulties faced by indigenous management researchers in China including legitimacy cause and methodological cause, and proposes the adoption of an engaged scholarship diamond model in indigenous researches. The problems and solutions of this model in the future application are also discussed.
