Abstract Based on self-determination theory, collecting three-wave data from 356 employees, this study discusses the boundary conditions and mechanism of leader’s unethical pro-organizational behavior on employee’s bottom-line mentality. The results show that leader’s unethical pro-organizational behavior can promote employee’s bottom-line mentality, and employee’s harmonious passion plays a mediating role in this relationship. In addition, employee’s family motivation not only positively adjusts the direct relationship between leader’s unethical pro-organizational behavior and employee’s harmonious passion, but also moderates the indirect relationship between leader’s unethical pro-organizational behavior and employee’s bottom-line mentality via employee’s harmonious passion.
