Abstract Based on social learning theory and social exchange theory, a moderated dual mediation model was constructed through 318 sample data at two time points to explore the influence mechanism and moderating differences of ethical leadership on employees’ moral voice. The results of the study shows that ethical leadership affects employees’ moral voice through two paths of leader-member exchange and moral model identification; ego depletion has different moderating effects on the second half of the two mediating paths. Specifically, ego depletion has a positive moderating effect on the relationship between leader-member exchange and moral voice, while it has a negative moderating effect on the relationship between moral role model identification and moral voice. Further testing confirms that ego depletion also has different moderating effects on the mediating effect of the two pathways.
