Abstract Based on leadership theory of creativity and integrative model of human growth at work, this study discusses the influence mechanism and boundary of secure-base leadership on employee creativity. A total of 274 valid matching questionnaires were collected from 63 high-tech R&D teams at 3 periods. The empirical analysis results show that secure-base leadership positively promotes employee creativity,the thriving at work plays a partial mediating role between secure-base leadership and the employee creativity,uncertainty avoidance moderates the effect of secure-base leadership on employees’ thriving at work, and meanwhile moderates the mediating effect of thriving at work between secure-base leadership and employee creativity.
