Abstract This research focuses on the question of “how companies carry out management transplantation to improve management ability”, and uses the exploratory single-case research method to explore the process mechanism and core elements of Wumart Group’s management transplantation to improve management ability. The study finds that: management transplantation is a dynamic and complex process. The management transplantation of an enterprise needs to go through the three stages of “import—integration—innovation”to achieve the improvement of management ability; the contents of management transplantation mainly include management models, system, technology and experience, etc. The transplantation modes include direct transplantation, integrated transplantation and interactive transplantation. Enterprises need to choose different management transplantation modes and contents according to their own development stage and internal and external environment.
