Abstract Based on self-determination theory and social information processing theory, this study discusses the influence and mechanism of self-sacrificial leadership on employee job crafting. By collecting three-wave data from 353 employees, empirical results indicated that: self-sacrificial leadership can significantly promote employees’ job crafting, and employees’ harmonious passion plays a mediating role in which; in addition, leader humility can strengthen the positive correlation between self-sacrificial leadership and employees’ harmonious passion, and enhance the mediating effect of harmonious passion.
