Abstract Recently, organization and management scholars started to reflex more on the relationship between management theory and practice, and they have accomplished preliminary success in this exploration road. In order to show the full picture of this exploration, the current study reviews and comments on this ten-year glorious exploration. Based on the content analysis from 438 papers published in the columns of “management in China” and “reflections” of Chinese Journal of Management between 2008 and 2018, the current study identifies these outcomes. Under the integrated framework of theory building and practice service, they are summarized into 12 categories. Furthermore, the current state, meanings, and shortcomings of these explorations are reviewed. In the end, some suggestions for future research are put forward in this line of research.
