Abstract Based on social network theory, this study distinguished the commercial network and social network, then based on it, we discussed the effect of different social networks on the acquisition of financing guarantee and analyzed the interaction influence of entrepreneur’s personal characteristics on social network and financing guarantee. Based on the survey data from 374 SMEs, it was found that both interpersonal relationship network and business network have positive role on acquiring financing guarantee, but in contrast, for the entrepreneurial enterprises with different organizational characteristics(such as: age, size, structure of the shareholders), the effect of business network on financing guarantees is far stronger than interpersonal relationship network.
