The Impact Mechanism of Work Team Advice Network on Transactive Memory System:The Mediating Effect of Organization-Based Self-Esteem

Abstract  Transactive memory system(TMS)theory has gained in popularity in recent researches on groups and other collectives. This study investigated the mediating role of team member’s average organization-based self-esteem (OBSE) between social network and transactive memory systems of work teams. Using data collected from middle China, the proposed hypotheses were tested with correlation analysis and hierarchical linear modeling techniques and etc. The results showed that advice network density is positively related to transactive memory system. Moreover, team members’ average organization-based self-esteem has mediating effects between advice network density and transactive memory system in work teams.
