Abstract By employing the panel data of Chinese listed firms from 2008 to 2012 and negative binomial regression model, the present research empirically examined the differential effects of the knowledge breadth and knowledge depth on innovation performance,as well as the moderating influences of technological relatedness. The results indicated that:① Knowledge breadth has positive effect on innovation performance.②The knowledge depth has an inverted U influences on innovation performance.③Technological relatedness has negative moderating effect on the relationship between knowledge breadth and innovation performance.④Technological relatedness has positive moderating effect between knowledge depth and innovation performance.
