Abstract The Scholar’s debates and reflections are important powers for the development of a discipline. By reviewing the debates and reflections published in Chinese Journal of Management in the last three years, this study summarized the valued contributions stemming from such debates and reflections, and they include:① Facing the practice of Chinese management is not only an idea but an action as well; ② The debates among existing management theories should not only focus on criticism but also on theory development;③ The evaluation of Chinese outstanding firm is the premise to develop Chinese management theory; ④ There is no absolutely right or wrong among different management research methodologies, the key problem is to make the research result more practical.
