Abstract The relevance gap is not only caused by the theories that are lack of practical consideration, but also caused by managers’ unwillingness or improper use of scientific theories. Therefore, to solve this problem, it is necessary to reveal the real logic of management practices. Based on the analyses of logic of management practice, the author argues that the managers should not only be treated as research object, but also should be treated as research subject. To bridge the relevance gap, we should not only investigate the logic and phronesis of management practice, produce practicebased theories, but also study how practitioners to be effective practice researchers.
