Abstract The paper explores two dimensions of assessing research on the management practice in China: practiceoriented and innovationoriented. Assessment criterias in the first dimension include: the importance of the research on management practice, whether the solution is simple and effective, whether it is easy for practitioners to absorb, the replicability of the conclusion to the practice of management. Assessment criterias in the second dimension contain: the difference from others, whether the important question exists in management practice in China, whether the originality of Chinese practice is found in the research, how the research contributes to the system of Chinese management research.
