Abstract Drawing on the institutional theory, this study examines the relationships among leadership change frequency, entrepreneurial orientation (EO), environment uncertainty, and indigenous firm innovation. Using an original data set of 195 firms, we find that CEO change frequency has an inverse Ushaped relationship with EO. Further, demand uncertainty weakens the positive relationship between EO and indigenous firm innovation, whereas technological turbulence strengthens this relationship.
