Abstract In this paper, a new position evaluation method based on attribute significance degree of rough set discernibility matrix is put forward. The method considers every attribute significance degree and decrease the subjectivity of evaluation. Starting from the evaluation of position, the weights of attributes are figured out for each attribute according to the attribute significance degree of evaluation result system, and then the final evaluation for each position could be worked out. Compared to the traditional method based on simple weighting sum of each indicator, this new method is more reasonable.
