Based on the entropy theory, we introduc the Theil Index to quantitative evaluate of the inequality of regional S&T development in China. The results show that in the beginning of 1990s, the diversity of the regions in China was shrinking but since 1993, the inequality has been increasing gradually. To solve the problem, the paper discusses the inequality characteristics and trend of regional S&T development and its causes.
