Abstract:A multidimensional analysis was conducted on the research in the field of user entrepreneurship through bibliometric methods, and six research clusters were identified: the context, driving factors, processes, subject features, characteristics and period selection of user entrepreneurship, and an integrated research framework of user entrepreneurship was constructed accordingly. It is found that user entrepreneurship has five characteristics, including dual benefits, community interaction, process nonlinearity, demand heterogeneity and end-dominance. Its subject usually has the characteristics of lead-users, user communities and high-frequency users, and is driven by four factors: product “shortcoming” identification, product business awareness, low-cost entry and self-value enhancement. The process of user entrepreneurship will go through three stages: emergence, aggregation and commercialization. Based on the spatiotemporal context, user entrepreneurship mostly appears in the formation and maturity of the industry, as well as the strong development trend of Internet technology, and the precise formulation of multi-stage policies. In addition, the future research directions are proposed by combining the keywords of each cluster generated by using the LDAvis visualization tool.
