Abstract：This study first analyzes the theoretical mechanism of technology market development to enhance the innovation efficiency of high-tech enterprises, and then measure the innovation efficiency of high-tech enterprises based on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2005 to 2022, and examines the effect of the development of the technology market on the innovation efficiency of high-tech enterprises and its role in the path of the development of the technology market. The study finds that the development of the technology market enhances the innovation efficiency of high-tech enterprises through promoting the absorption of external knowledge by enterprises, promoting the specialized division of labor in innovation, and promoting the synergistic input of innovation factors. The conclusions remains robust even when the measurement of technology market development and innovation efficiency of enterprises is changed. Meanwhile, in regions with economic development location advantages, the technology market has a higher effect on enterprise innovation efficiency. In areas with a developed technology market, the incremental effect of the technology market on enterprise innovation efficiency is even more pronounced.
