Abstract:Integrating quantified self-activity into the social media scene is an effective way to strengthen consumers’ continuance intention in quantified self. Based on the theories of social support and CAPS, this paper constructs a relationship model between online social support and patients’ continuance intention in quantified self in a community of patients with chronic diseases. A sample of 326 chronic disease patients is empirically analyzed. The results show that the platform’s (community operator) information and emotional support has a significant positive effect on patients’ continuance intention in quantified self. The emotional support of members (other patients in the community) has a significant positive effect on patients’ continuance intention in quantified self. Self-efficacy and emotional commitment play a mediating role in the positive relationship between platform support, member emotional support, and patients’ continuance intention in quantified self.
