Abstract:Based on the characteristics of platform firms and experiential learning theory, using the panel data from listed Chinese platform firms, this study explored how CEO’s Internet industrial experience influences strategic change and the jointed moderating effect embedded in individual-organizational contingency by fixed effect model. The empirical study found that CEO’s internet industrial experience had the positive effect on platform firms strategic change, and CEO’s managerial discretion strengthened the positive effect. When platform firms were belonging to the start-up stage, or facing the higher level of market uncertainty, the positive moderating effect became weaker. And when platform firms brought higher performance, the positive moderating effect became stronger.
