Abstract：Based on the basic assumption that Social environment coevolution may cultivates entrepreneurial opportunities, this paper studies the environment in which Fanli and Zigong lived and make the following conclusions: ① the coevolution of technology and tax system eventually lead to the expansion the market;②reduced specificity of important sacrificial vessel and collapse of the hereditary system of aristocrat provide opportunities for intellectuals entrepreneurship; ③ the path dependence of law evolution provides legitimacy for intellectuals to engage in commercial activities. Furthermore, the professional experience of Fanli and Zigong who served as senior government officials makes it convenient for them to lower the cost of obtaining the valuable commercial information.
