Through the analysis of the 164 empirical research literatures on human resource management in China in 26 international authoritative journals, this article reviews the research topics, orientation and methods of the literatures in the past 34 years. In addition, this article summarizes the research of the individual researchers who contribute most to the studies of human resource management in China and proposes the directions for future research.
