Abstract:Based on goal shielding theory, through a two-stage, 283 supervisor-subordinate matching questionnaire survey and a situational experiment with 203 full-time employees as subjects, this research discussed the effect and psychological mechanism between amoral management and subordinates’ unethical behavior under the circumstance of organizational competitive climate. The results showed that under the situation of a strong organizational competitive climate, amoral management strengthened subordinates’ bottom-line mentality, and subordinates’ bottom-line mentality was positively related to their unethical behavior. Besides,
the organizational competitive climate strengthened the indirect effect of amoral management on subordinates’ unethical behavior through bottom-line mentality.
