Abstract：Based on social impact theory and BASS model, the basic model of public information diffusion of dangerous chemicals was constructed, and the normative impact index was improved. The data of micro-blog discussion about the Tianjin “8.12” dangerous chemical explosion accident were collected, and the information impact coefficient and the norm impact index were fitted by differential method combined with non-linear regression. The results show that the improved power function model and the improved exponent function model are suitable for the long-term information diffusion process that covers the diversified information released by the government and the short-term information diffusion process which only contains homogeneous information released by the government respectively. Information content has a greater impact on the public information diffusion behavior in the long-term process of information diffusion, while the group norm has a greater influence on the public information diffusion behavior in the short-term process of information diffusion.
