Using a sample of 250 employees from 31 Chinese companies, we found out that: i) charismatic leadership impact group member’s work attitude and group performance positively; ii) different behavior dimensions of charismatic leadership differ in their influence on group members’ work attitude and group performance; iii) group members’ work attitude can moderate the effectiveness of charismatic leadership, positive attitude can help charismatic leadership style fully exert its effectiveness at the group level in order to achieve higher group performance.
